Insider Info
Page Seal
Page Seal is a productivity enhancement feature, used in two main ways:
- When you hint and then reprocess a document, you can save time by "sealing" pages that are already perfect. After reprocessing, any pages that have changed as a result of your hints will show a "broken" seal and your attention will be drawn to that page for re-examination.
- When a conversion process includes standard and then specialist review, all regular pages can be reviewed and sealed by a standard operator, and the specialist can then navigate directly to any unsealed pages. For example, a junior operator may be tasked with reviewing all pages
that don't contain equations. Then, a specialist will continue the inspection, making sure the equations are just perfect without having to review every page or search for them manually.
For more information on Page Seal, please contact Ryan Germann, Product Manager.

Exegenix in the News
November 16: BNA, Inc. selects Exegenix for XML content conversion
Exegenix Conversion Satellite streamlines conversion process for content-based products and services
Halcyon Ahearn, BNA Systems Analyst, explains: "We were using several inadequate methods inside different business units. We were using conversion scripts and proprietary tools-never mind manual retagging. Our methods for converting documents from PDF were particularly prone to
problems and required lots of extra work, lots of human intervention. We are excited at the potential of the Exegenix Conversion Satellite and are very impressed by the service we've received. We have deployed several client stations, which provide a unified XML conversion platform, and are in the
process of setting up more. This is proving to be a very useful tool for us."

November 30: Dutch legislative and regulatory material harmonized with Exegenix XML
conversion technology
Our partner in the Netherlands, Diderot Track Information Consultants, is using the Exegenix Conversion Satellite to structure legislative and regulatory material for publishing by SER (the Social and Economic Council), and by the Dutch Ministry of Education
Explains Aad Kamsteeg, CEO, Diderot Track: "No other conversion solution provides the same high quality XML at such a cost-effective price. The user interface provides a visual preview of the conversion results and, more importantly, allows the correction of any structural
ambiguities before the actual XML is output. This saves us time, and saves our customers money. Tens of thousands of pages have now been processed this way with very satisfactory results - low costs, less time, high quality."

pages long in PDF Normal or PostScript format.
All XML output will be returned to you via email. Output for each sample file consists of the following:
- Exegenix Export XML
This file contains XML conforming to the Exegenix Export DTD (a superset of DocBook). It illustrates the versatility of our output, containing both structure elements and format attributes, and can be easily transformed to the DTD of your
choice.
- XHTML
For quick viewing in a browser
Note that we individually review each sample that is uploaded so, though the actual conversion process is automated, the submission process is not.
